February - W.A.S.

In case you didn't know, this year our church adopted Sycamore Elementary School.
That means, as a church, we said we'd help out when needed.
The teachers do so much to touch the lives of the kids in Putnam County, so our youth group decided to spend Wednesday After School helping the some teachers with all their work that piles up after school.
Our group is so good at working "behind the scenes" and never expecting a "Thank You," but you wouldn't believe how quickly they worked and how much they got done.

They did everything asked of them, from coloring...

...to filing papers.

They sharpened pencils...

...and did lots of sorting.

Matt had to check this out.
He went to school at Sycamore, and he thought he recognized this from his younger days.
I wish I could tell you what it does.

I love how the teens went and sought out ways to help the teachers, too.

If you think this is crooked, please don't tell us.
We risked our lives to get it up. ;)

I spy some familiar faces.

And look how much fun we were having.
Haha!

I love how and teens will jump in and serve, no questions asked.
With so many hands, they accomplish much more than one person could have.

This wasn't even all our teens.
Shout out to the other group who helped move food!
The adults said that it was the hardest those boys had EVER worked at WAS.
Thank you guys so much!

  1. The teachers (and assistants!) are grateful for all your hard work! The kids noticed the Word Wall the next morning and loved it. We'd had that stuff for a long time, just no time to get put up. (Matt, I'm glad you enjoyed reminiscing!) That stuff is old, but it's all we got! :) Thanks again for helping us!
